Bara crush Chitwan

CHITWAN, Dec 16:Bara beat Chitwan by six wickets in the ongoing Lions Cup National Cricket tournament on Monday.

Chitwan won the toss and elected to bat first but they bowed down to experienced Bara bowling making just 101 runs in 29 overs –11 over short of the allotted 40 overs. Bara reached the target with ease in 20 overs losing four wickets.

The defeat was the second league defeat for Chitwan while Bara have won both their matches played in the tournament. Only Nabin Piya (27) and Suman Thapa (12) batted a bit longer for Chitwan while rest of the batsmen failed to reach double figure mark. Suraj Timilsina bowled outstanding spell notching four Chitwan wickets in his four-over spell conceding 11 runs. Likewise, Binod Das, Sameer Thapa, Sanjam Regmi, Jitendra Yadav and Sailendra picked up a wicket apiece.

Bara lost four wickets including that of experienced Binod Das (6) and Kaniska Chaugain (17) but Sameer Thapa anchored the innings chipping in with 33 runs in 52 balls. Yeti Airlines will take on Kaski on Tuesday.
