ANFA enrolls eight new members

Post Report

LALITPUR, Dec 18 : Ganesh Thapa, the president of the unified All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), has included eight new members into the association’s executive committee on Wednesday.

The two ANFAs, after two years of separation, were officially united on November 21.

According to an ANFA press release, the decision was taken following the sub-article VII of article 14.1.1 of the ANFA’s amended statute. The NSC had issued a directive granting authority to the new unified ANFA to include both the parties for the benefit of football’s development in the country.

Karma Tschering Shrepa, who was the vice-president of Geeta Rana led ANFA and acting-president after the NSC sacked Rana from the post, retained the post of the committee’s vice-president. Likewise, the then general-secretary Kumar Thapa got the post of acting general-secretary leaving the door still open for ANFA general-secretary Lok Bahadur Shahi, who is reportedly lobbying against president Thapa.

Meanwhile, the association has also picked up Rama Singh as the president of its women football committee. The other members selected on Wednesday are Lalit Krishna Shrestha, Kapli Gurung, Krishna Bhakta Manandhar, Haribol Bhandary, Indraman Tuladhar and Anil Bandhu Rupakheti.
