Wait for experts’ findings

This is in response to the letter entitled: "Fatal negligence", dated December 19, 2002, TKP.

First and foremost, we iterate that we provided the best care possible to the patient in question. We are saddened that our efforts to save his life were unsuccessful.

In addition to the obvious injuries (fractures and open wounds), the patient had closed injuries involving his entire left lower buttock and back. This fact is documented in the records, and there is no question of lying about any facts. Demarcation of the skin and underlying muscle in such closed injuries takes time.

Sepsis is not an uncommon complication after such injuries, and can be mortal even after an appropriate care, which was fully provided. The risks involved in the various treatments undertaken were duly explained to the best of our ability. We are prepared to face the scrutiny of expert panels, regarding the treatment provided to this patient.
