Ghising steers RCT into semis

BIRATNAGAR, Feb 3: A golden goal by Raj Kumar Ghising saw favourite Mahendra Police Club (MPC) returning back from the Nirajan Memorial Invitational Football tournament following Rani Pokhari Corner Team’s (RCT) 2-1 victory at the sensational quarterfinal on Tuesday.

The match, drawing more spectators than the first quarterfinal proved one of the hottest showdown of the tournament as the match went for sudden death after both the team failed to break the 1-1 deadlock in the regulation time.

Ghising, who was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant hat-trick against Three Star Club in the preliminary phase, once again played vital role for the much-needed win against the in-form Police club through the golden goal in the 3rd minute of extra time.
