Bad management

On Jan 26, 2002, as part of Republic day celebration of India, a cultural programme was organised at the Royal Nepal Academy hall by the Indian embassy. The invitation passes for the same were issued to the general public in advance. When I reached the Academy hall, I found a huge crowd of people thronging its premises. I too joined the serpentine queue waiting for my turn to enter into the RNA hall where the show was held. But, after waiting for nearly half an hour in the chilly weather, we were finally told that the auditorium was packed to the brim. When the capacity of the hall was known in advance, then what was the point in issuing extra passes to the people and then expressing their inability to make the seating arrangements in the eleventh hour? I fail to understand. This shows the negligence and lackadaisical attitude of the officials concerned who didn’t organise and manage the show properly. In the end, it was the general public who suffered and felt humiliated when the main entrances were shut without giving adequate information to them. It is a case of sheer mismanagement.
