Insecurity in Valley

The Maoist movement is spreading its tentacles all over the country. A lot of money and material is being poured into the anti-Maoist campaign. But it seems to be going nowhere. The parliament extended the state of emergency for the next three months. But this is hardly any consolation. In the last two weeks alone hundreds of people- be they Maoists or security personnel- were killed. Terror reigns almost every part of the country. So much so, it has even invaded the allies of Kathmandu Valley. Even in broad daylight, we hear explosions and violence. A cross-fire between army and rebels has become quite common in the capital. There is a fear that the rebels are lurking in the dark alleys of the Valley. City dwellers are expecting an outbreak of violence anytime, any place. If the government cannot provide law and order within the Valley, how can we expect it to do the same outside the Valley.
