LALITPUR, Jan 3: Shesh Narayan VDC advanced to
the semifinals of the Pushpalal Memorial Cup Inter-VDC football tournament following their
stunning 2-1 victory over Ramkot on Thursday.
Shesh Narayan opened their account through
Sanubabu Balami in the 28th minute for a 1-0 lead. But Ramkot equalised in the first half
injury time when Niroj Ghatani converted a spot-kick into a goal. Balami shone again in
the 55th minute to guide Shesh Narayan to a 2-1 win for a place in the last four.
In the day’s another quarterfinal match,
New Naikap came from behind to register a narrow 2-1 victory against Nallu. Likewise,
Dhapakhel edged past Tinthana 1-0 by virtue of a golden goal from Harihar Basnet.
