Training on sustainable development kicks off

KATHMANDU, Jan 6:A two-day training on Sustainable Development kicked off here today to inform Kathmandu-based journalists about issues relating to sustainable development in Nepal.

Eighteen journalists from different media houses have been taking part in the training that will end tomorrow. The training was organised by Nepal Forum for Environmental Journalists (NEFEJ), a forum of environment journalists working in different media in Nepal.

The training is expected to encourage journalists to raise issues of sustainable development.

In today’s training, four resource persons shared their ideas regarding sustainable development. Technical advisor of the NEFEJ Karsten Dahal, National Programme Manager at Nepal’s Capacity 21 Hum Bahadur Gurung, officials at the Ministry of Population and Environment Bihari Krishna Shrestha and Batu Krishna Upreti informed the journalists about different aspects of the training programme.

The training is expected to encourage the journalists on the issues of sustainable development in the country.
