Fault-finding leader

This refers to the news story entitled "Emergency has lost its relevance, says Nepal" dated January 10, 2002, TKP.

UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal attempted to impress his party cadres by saying that the "state of emergency has lost its relevance." Nepal even went a step further saying that the people has lost their faith in the present government. He did not, however, prove his criticism. And thus it sounded hollow. Nepal talks about what is bad but never shows light at the end of the tunnel. I have observed in this country that our political leaders know how to make "irrelevant" comments and slam the government. Unfortunately, they seem to be too myopic to look into the pressing problems in the country. Nepal has never put down his suggestions for resolving the Bhutanese refugee crisis, leave aside the trade treaty with India. The trade treaty has been extended for three more months as a result of differences between Nepal and India over the issue of export surge. I am sure Madhav Kumar Nepal may not be able to speak even a single word if someone asks him about his party’s policy is on the treaty.

What I suggest here is that Nepal must stop talking nonsense. He should make suggestions for the country’s development, or better keep quiet.
