S’pore WASME meet ends

KATHMANDU, Jan 16 The 31st special meeting of the governing body of World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME) held in Singapore concluded on Wednesday.

Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, President of Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), and the member of the governing body of the WASME participated on the three-day meet, states a press release issued here today.

The NCC, in the press release, said that the three-day meet focused on amending the Acts and regulations of the association and approved the final drafts. The new regulations are expected to enhance the effectiveness of the objectives and activities of the WASME.

Issues related with information technology in SMEs were dealt with in a separate conference organised on the occasion. The conference highlighted the need to facilitate banking services in the SMEs by maintaining coordination between the enterprises and the banks, according to the release.

Shrestha also met the representatives from various countries and discussed on the bilateral trade and commerce. Earlier, he had proposed Nepal as a venue for the next meet of the WASME, the release concludes.
