BIRGUNJ, Jan 23 (PR) - Yeti Airways and Union Bank of India from Mumbai registered wins in the second days matches of the ongoing Chachan Gold Cup cricket tournament on Wednesday. In the match played at the Adarshanagar stadium, Yeti Airways was declared victorious as the players from Little Master Club of Delhi left the ground protesting the Umpires decision. By then Yeti Airways had already scored 162 runs in 36.3 overs in reply to the visitors total of 167 runs. Sandeep Shrestha was the highest scorer of the match with 56 runs. In the match played at Kalaiya, Union Bank of India team defeated Kalaiya Cricket Club (KCC) by 25 runs. Chasing a victory target of 193 runs, KCC was bundled out for 167 runs. BHAKTAPUR, Jan 23 (PR) The 3rd National Workers Cup volleyball tournament kicked off Wednesday at the Martyrs Memorial volleyball court. In the opening match, Tribhuvan Club defeated Dhor Patan Sports Club 25-22, 25-15, 19-25, 25-19 while in the days second match, Jawalakhel Club beat Indreni Youth Club 25-11, 25-23, 25-13. National Sports Councils member-secretary Binod Shanker Palikhe inaugurated the opening ceremony amid a function earlier on the day. Rana nominated for venue inspection KATHMANDU, Jan 23 (PR) - President of Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) Rukma Shamsher Rana has been nominated as a member of the Asian Winter Games venue inspection committee, said a press release issued by NOC on Wednesday. The nomination was made at the 38th executive committee meeting of Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) that was chaired by its president Shekh Ahmed al Fahad al Sahba in Kuwait. Rana heads the OCA media committee. Also nominated to the inspection committee as members were Samih Moudallal of Siriya and Sunekaju Takeda of Japan. The committee is scheduled to inspect the venues from March 4-13 this year in bidding countries Lebanon, Iran and China for the Asian Winter Games . |
