Surprising encounter

I recently visited the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, inside the Singha Durbar. When I went in, I noticed that some installation work was being carried out. Upon inquiry, I was told that in the rooms of the secretary and the junior minister of the ministry, air-conditions were being installed. I also learnt that an environmental project of DANIDA, currently located inside the ministry building, was funding it. Immediately, I couldn’t help but think what an environment project was doing installing air-conditions in the private rooms of these people. I thought air-condition was supposed to be harmful to the environment and it was not environment-friendly. I would love to hear form this project on how installing air-conditions on these government ministry to be installing the air-conditions now-at a time when they should be cutting down severely on luxuries. Donor agencies should seriously think about this kind of activity and be very reluctant to work with the government, which wasted funds like this
