Campion launches EMBA course

KATHMANDU, March 29:The government has given priority to vocational and technical education in the tenth five-year plan, Minister of State for Education and Sports NP Saud said here Friday.

Inaugurating the launching of Executive MBA (EMBA) programme by the Campion Kathmandu College, affiliated to Purbanchal University, Minister Saud said the government has been investing Rs 1.35 billion yearly in education sector but said the outcome has been still unsatisfactory, especially in the field of vocational and technical education.

Kailash Kumar Devan, chairman of the Campion Associate said the college has collaborated with Calcutta University and will facilitate the exchange of scholars and students enabling the Nepali students to take up competitive exams in reputed Indian institutes-IIM and IIT.

‘The new programme is especially designed for job-holders or the executives,’ he said.

Speaking on the same ocassion, Vice-Chancellor of Purbanchal University, Toran Bahadur Karki said private colleges and universities have relieved the government from huge financial burden.

Eastern University has affiliation to forty campuses and churns around 300 graduates annually.
