Football tourney for street children

LALITPUR, April 30 (PR) - French INGO Palanete Enfants and SAATHI will jointly organise the Planet Enfants World Peace Cup football tournament for the street children on May 4 at the Jawalakhel football ground, the organisers announced at a press conference on Tuesday. A total of seven NGOs including Concern Nepal Voice of Children, CWIN, Panauti Children Home, Balmandir Naxal, Save the Children Fund UK, Sath Sath and the hosts Planete Enfants and SAATHI will compete at the day-long tournament. The winners will be awarded an official World Cup 2002 football signed by all the members of French Football team provided by FIFA. Beside that, each of the participating teams will be award with a special fair-play-peace cup. SAATHI president Pramada Shah said that the tournament would be organised annually from this year on. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) will provide technical supports for the organisation of the tournament which has been sponsored by UNICEF, ILO, Save the Children Fund (UK) and the French Embassy in Nepal.
