Readers' response

I wonder, as there are thousands of readers of Kathmandu Post, if only one-fourth of them ever notices this page. I do go through the reviews on every issue. The article on promoting book culture on April 28, 2002 Sunday is appreciated. It has set an alarm of awareness among the readers. I too, have a hunger for reading books but seldom write. But I think, all responsive readers should be encouraged to write on whatever they’ve read and to express their views after they’ve read a KPRB issue. Education is not merely gained only by reading our textbooks. Young kids are glued to their textbooks and the parents too, don’t want them to read other books and are themselves fed up of reading. People’s love and hunger for books is declining. However, it is a remarkable achievement that KPRB has come a long way, rendering valuable information regarding books, despite the fact that readers have seldom responded.

One thing I would like to mention is that I think it would be more interesting if you would include the reviews of fiction books also. We readers are very grateful to KPRB and I’m sure KPRB can go beyond the limited circle of readers in the forthcoming days and reside in the heart of all the readers.
