Make apology

This refers to the news story titled:" PM Chand, Dr Bhattarai share single platform, dated April 1, 2003, TKP. I also saw Maoist ideologue Dr Babu Ram Bhattarai happily garlanding and giving away awards along with Prime Minister Chand at the function organised by the Reporters Club in BICC. There was total confusion with Dr Bhattarai trying to upstage the Prime Minister when I saw it on television. Of course, both looked pleasant but did not share the moment verbally. Prime Minister Chand smiled and felt happy being with the Maoist ideologue. Literally, Prime Minister Chand looked happy because he wanted to see peace in this country. But the whole drama looked more comical than what was anticipated. I felt sad and angry the way the Maoist ideologue behaved. For seven long years, the Maoists went around killing and looting people, instilling fear in every body’s mind. For what ? All because they wanted to stand on a stage to garland and give away awards? It has been two months since the ceasefire announced. It is high time that the Maoists first apologize to the Nepali people for the heinous crimes they are responsible for.
