Rain plays havoc with basketball tourney

KATHMANDU, August 18 (PR) - Rain has become hitched Baba Boarding’s Third Tanka Bahadur Memorial Basketball Tournament that started from Friday. Incessant rain that disrupted a match between Shuvatara and Sagarmatha Sunday afternoon continued through today. This has caused the matches scheduled for today to be abandoned. These include those between Daffodil and Ideal Model, Young Hearts and Alliance, RIBS and New Summit, BRL and Shuvatara, Baba and Whitefield, Ananda Kuti and Shridewa in the seniors’ category while in the juniors’, matches between Alliance and Shridewa, Baba and Whitefield, RIBS and Daffodil, LRI and Don Bosco and Penwood and Wilson have been affected. To compensate for this, the organisers are planning to hold matches throughout the remaining days.
