Boudha emerge champions

KATHMANDU, Feb 15 (PR) - Umesh Jung Thapa scored twice to guide Boudha Football Club to first position in Kathmandu district Khukuri Gold Cup Selection tournament beating Samaj Kalyan 4-2 on Saturday.

Thapa scored the goals in the 32nd and 48th minute while Sanchit Lama and Nima Lama also found the net for the winners. Norbu Lama scored both the Samaj Kalyan goals.

In Bhaktapur, Gyanu Shrestha’s golden goal, scored in the sixth minute of added time, saw Madhyapur Youth Club beat Kamal Yuva Parivar 1-0 in the final.

Elsewhere in Rupandehi Lisno Youth Club defeated Christian Youth Club 2-1 in the final match. Christian took the lead through Yogendra Thapa’s first half goal but Sumindra Kunwar struck twice for Lisno in the second half to seal the victory

In Bara, Unique Club got the better of Trishul Club 2-1 in the title clash. Raj Bahadur Choudhary and Babulal Das struck for Unique while Ghanshyam Choudhary scored the consolation goal for Trishul.

In Makwanpur, FC Internet emerged the winners after defeating Sano Pokhara ‘B’ 2-0 in the final. Sushil Shrestha and Birendra Rai scored the goals for the winners.

Meanwhile, Pokhara Club humbled Kaji Pokhara Youth Club 4-2 to become champions of Kaski district. Prakash Gurung and Anil Gurung netted two goals each for the winners. Similarly, Devendra Shah’s strike steered Jaleshwor into the final beating Dhalkebar 1-0. In Banke, Model Team and Bagmati Youth Club entered the final beating Karfando Club and New Danfe Club by identical margin of 2-0.

Likewise, Nawabahini Youth Club and Jalpa Devi Youth Club entered the semifinals in Nuwakot. Nawabahini hammered Samaj Sudhar Youth Club 5-1 while Jalpa Devi got the better of Manav Jagaran Club 3-2.
