Bold and creative

Of the two interviews published (February 19, 2003, TKP ), the one from FNCCI is remarkable and calls for action-oriented partnership from the government, business community, and the civil society. Responding to the problematic and challenging situation of today Binod Bahadur Shrestha’s commitmental offer on behalf of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) make us realise the strong will and creative potentiality as well as urgent concern of the business organisation in the realms of reconstructive and rehabilitative scenario at the national level. The pertinent offers worth referring are:

- given notable concession for the factories established outside the valley, preparedness to open productive avenues in the remote areas for developmental economy and stabilised social order

- establish trade schools in the five development regions under the concept of public private partnership leading to self-concept of public private partnership leading to self-employment and upgraded capabilities for better jobs in the extended frontier

- direct financial assistance to rehabilitate Maoist-affected people to facilitate solving the national crisis if exemption from income tax is seriously considered.

It is now for the government, the policy enunciators, and the political parties to make their respective commitments in strengthening the private sectors towards promoting their active inputs, and work out a meaningful programme to utilise the generous offer brought forth from FNCCI for the sustainable cause at the national level.
