Let people decide

In a democratic country like Nepal all major decisions should be taken by the people and not by the politicians. There is already a precedence. The late King Birendra let the people decide whether they wanted multi-party democracy or ‘reformed’ partyless Panchayat through referendum, and they gave their verdict 24 years ago.

The country is again at a critical juncture. The politicians have threatened that they are opting for republic. They are not the ones to decide what should be the future system of the country. The people should decide what they want through referendum.
