Scarce commodity

Come summer or winter, water scarcity plagues the urbanites round the clock. Water is a scarce commodity. At best, the water supply is erratic. It is frustrating to open a dry tap early in the morning. A considerable part of our time and energy goes into collecting and storing water. The problem is also explained by old and leaking water pipes that are badly in need of repair. Needless to say, water is one of the basic necessities, and we, the residents of the Kathmandu Valley, are parching. But funnily, we are made to live in the so-called Metropolitan City, where a regular, abundant and clean supply of drinking water is a rarity.
