Helping hand

After reading a news item carried by your paper on March 9, 2003 about the painful condition of a nine-year old boy Biplav Poudel at the Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital, I went to the hospital recently.

Biplav is from a remote village of Bharatpur and accompanied by his very poor, innocent father. After seeing him at the hospital and listening to his father, I have been very much emotionally attached with this boy’s plight. The boy, a Grade IV student, is extraordinarily studious, besides being a very good artist of his age. I could see the innocent boy, even if being taken care in ICU, busy with his painting work.

But he is quite unaware of what is coming ahead if his poor innocent father cannot collect about four hundred thousand rupees required for his treatment. According to the hospital, the boy can be certainly saved if the current treatment process can be continued. Unfortunately, the hospital being run with help of kind-hearted people cannot help the boy without any help from outsiders, ie, the people like us.

Genuine and generous concern from all could save the life of a genius poor boy. Our kind help can give life to him. Contact Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital. Telephone# 6611532 and 6614430.
