Anti-Bush, Blair rage spills over

Post Report

NARAYANGADH, March 19 : Lampooning US President George W Bush as a water buffalo, three leftist parties today took out a protest rally opposing the imminent US-led war on Iraq.

The male buffalo was decorated with anti-war banners warning the lone superpower against attacking a sovereign nation.

Around 300 cadres of the CPN-UML, People’s Front Nepal and CPN-ML led the buffalo through the major thoroughfares of the town and later converged at Balkumari Chowk, where they held a brief meeting.

Former chairman of Chitwan District Development Committee Bishnu Ghimire, district secretary of CPN-ML Bhagawati Ghimire and district vice-chairman of the People’s Front Nepal Dambar Puri addressed the protest meeting.

They demanded that the US and its allied forces -Britain, Spain and Australia -immediately withdraw their decision to attack on Iraq.
