Universal Academy humble Sambodha

KATHMANDU, Sept 8 (PR) - The second day of the First Reliance International Academy (RIA) Inter-school Sub-juniors’ Basketball tournament did not throe out any close matches. In the first match, Universal Academy managed an 8-7 lead over Sambodha International School in the second quarter. But they were down 7-2, 12-4 and 18-4 respectively in the first, second and third quarter. As the match ended, Sambodha emerged the winner with a 44-18 lead.

NK Singh Memorial had an even more convincing win over Bhaktapur English School in the second match. In all four quarters, Bhaktapur English had eight whereas NK Singh Memorial was far ahead with 47 points.

Milan Vidhya Mandir’s Jitendra Shah alone scored 25 and took his team’s score to 33. His rival team Himalayan International, on the other hand, scored even less than Jitendra himself. They had only 18 points.

After being 5-0 behind in the first quarter, Children’s Heaven School scored 10 in the second and had a 10-7 lead by half time. But that was the only taste of glory for them as New Buddha’s Prakash hammered 10 in the third and 13 in the fourth taking their total score to 30 before the final whistle and won 30-15.
