Hindu Value Works

AIDS is certainly a great threat to the modern society. Blame the social behaviour not AIDS for the present situation. No doubt, free society has created this problem. In his article Taboos Vs Threat (TRN, Dec.13, 1999) Prakash Dahal has claimed that Hindu value cannot check the flow of AIDS from India. Again he argued due to overwhelming information technology it is impossible to limit sexual behaviour between husband and wife. He also blames Cinemax, HBO and other satellite channels for making teenagers more erotic. Indeed, Mr. Dahal is right to point the causes as well as remedies of the killer disease. It is almost impossible to close the open borders and to scrutinise the visitors. But the concerned authorities can initiate other measures to improve the sexual behaviours of the people and reduce the risk of AIDS. Do we really need HBO and Cinemax? To what? To make our teenagers more and more erotic? Why cannot the intellectuals and social workers pressurise the government to stop such channels? Answers for these questions should be found. Hindu value really works, if it is sincerely followed by all. First parents should follow the value only then their children follow it. Distribution of condoms is not the solution. It may create another problem.
