It has been nearly 30 months since the bridge over the Manahara River on the old Kathmandu-Bhaktapur route had collapsed in a summer flood. With the collapse of the bridge almost all the vehicles have been plying along the new Bhaktapur-Kathmandu route. Even the employees working at Sanothimi have to go through the new route. As a result traffic jam has been common in the new route. Indeed, it is not understandable why the concerned authorities are delaying to reconstruct the damaged bridge and open the old route. Does it take three years to repair a damaged bridge just a few kilometres away from the capital city? Sarmila Kharel |
