FNCCI hands over cash prizes for SAFG winners

Kathmandu, June 30: The Federation of Nepal Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) today handed over the cash prizes it had announced to award to Nepalese medal winners of lasts South Asian Federation Games.

The FNCCI President, Pradeep Kumar Shrestha handed away RS. 4,04,000 to Nepal Sports Council Member Secretary Binod Shankar Palikhe in a ceremony held at FNCCI’s secretariat today to coincide the 30th Auspicious Birthday of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.

The prizes will be distributed among 41 Nepalese gold medallists, 29 silver medallists and 49 bronze medallists of 8th SAF Games held in Kathmandu. As announced earlier, all the gold medallists will receive 5000 rupees each while the silver medallists and bronze winners will get RS. 3,500 and RS. 2000 each respectively.

Along with the cash prizes, President Shrestha handed over letters of recommendation and gifts and letters of recommendation to be given to the players by NSC chief Palikhe.

It may be recalled that FNCCI announced the prizes on the auspicious day "Industry and commerce Day" last year to celebrate the victories of Nepalese athletes who would later honoured the country by creating history in the annals of Nepalese sports.

Palikhe, at the function, said that the honours and prizes extended to Nepalese medal winners would enhance the prestige of Nepalese athletes and would encourage them.

At the ceremony, President Shrestha giving his vote of thanks and said FNCCI would extend its whatever assistance needed to promote the Nepalese games and sports persons who had really enhanced the prestige of the country in the 8th SAF Games.
