Is KMC Sleeping?

I don’t really understand how the garbage disposal system is working in Kathmandu. This is reflected by the Kathmandu Metropolitan City(KMC) abandoning the job of disposing the garbage dumped in containers and roadsides for over a week. On the one hand there is talk maintaining the cleanliness of the city but on the other hand things are left in such a mess. The KMC has the sole responsibility for disposing the garbage generated by the city but negligence of this sort is uncalled for. It is not only once that the city sees garbage piling up for days on end but seems to have become a recurring phenomenon much to the dislike of the people living here. I hope the concerned authorities have a clear cut strategy on how to deal with the city garbage. Only talk programmes, seminars and workshops will not rid the city of the problem. What we, the people of Kathmandu, need is action to deal with the garbage problem.
