BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu, July 2: In the school level athletics meet organised by the Nepal Amateur Athletics Association (NAAA) to mark the 30th Auspicious Birthday of His Royal Highness Deependra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, schools of Bhaktapur dominated the meet. Bashu Lower Secondary School of Bhaktapur topped the medal table by collecting three gold medals in the boy's events while Madan Smarak of Lalitpur top the table in girl's events. President of NAAA, Rukma Shumsher Rana gave away the prizes to the winners of the meet amidst a special function, today. 116 athletes representing thirteen schools of the Valley had taken part in the meet for boys and girls. In the 1500m for boys, Bijendra Aganja of Padma School of Bhaktapur won the gold with a time of 4 min. 33:55 sec while in neck to neck battle Pursottam Silpakar of the same school collected bronze by clocking 4 min 39:19 sec whereas Ganga Ram of Bashu Secondary School took the bronze with the time of 4 min 39:28 sec. Meanwhile, in 800m for girl's, Bashu Secondary School of Bhaktapur collected gold and silver. Sabitri Suwal came first with the time of 2 min 40:83 sec while Nilam Duwal finished second with the time of 2 min 47:83 sec. Upasana Shakya of Madan Smarak girls school collected bronze with the time of 2 min 49:18 sec. In the 400m for men's Dev Sundar Prajapati of Bashu Secondary School took the gold with the time of 54:89 sec while Bijendra Aganja took the silver with the time 56:81 sec. Pursottam Silpakar of the same school collected bronze with the time of 1 min 01:03 sec. Likewise, in the 100m for boy's, Dev Sundar Prajapati of Bashu Secondary School of Bhaktapur become the fastest runner to collect the gold with the time of 12:27 sec in the today's meet while Prabesh Shahi of Kantipur School took the silver with the time of 12:35 sec. Bimal Dev Panth SOS collected the bronze with the 12:42 sec. In the 100m for girl's, Bina Karmacharya of Padma School of Bhaktapur become the fastest runner among girl's to collect the gold with the time of 14:46 sec while Buddha Laxmi Thapa of Madan Smarak took the silver with the fraction of twenty seconds. Ramita Maharjan of the same school collected bronze. Similarly, in the women's long jump, Ganga Kumari Choudhari of Little Angels took the gold by jumping 4m 12 cm while Hema Shrestha of SOS Bhaktapur collected silver whereas Indu Dulal of Padma School of Bhaktapur took the bronze. School took the bronze. Keashang Lama of Meanwhile in the shot put for girl's Kabita Lama of Madan Smarak grabbed the gold by throwing 8m 02cm while Sadikxa Thapa of Gyanodaya took the bronze whereas Dina Rai of Madan Smarak ran away with bronze. Likewise in the boy's shot put, Hemanta Gurung of Gyanodaya took the gold with a throw of 10m 60cm. Niraj Bahadur of Elites CoEd grabbed the silver while bronze went to Kantipur English. Similarly, in the javelin throw, Upendra Shrestha of Gyanodaya Balbatika won gold with a throw of 26m 90cm.
