Nearly six months back I had the opportunity to read a notice published in a daily newspaper regarding a British NGO wishing to help promote the small industries of Nepal for poverty alleviation and self-employment programme. As a needy person I would like to know which British NGO is willing to help and what is the process for receiving assistance. If the NGOs are interested in extending cooperation, I want to offer a few suggestions. The help to be given should be for skill development. In this regard, negotiations for loans to the small industries must be made with the finance companies of Nepal. It would also be helpful if they provide the old machinery, tools, spare parts and raw materials for industries in Nepal. Moreover, the industrialists would have a better insight if opportunities were provided to them to participate in industrial fairs to display their products. This will all go to help and promote the small industries of Nepal. Mahamani Udas Shikhrakar |
