Aladdin, Dhimal, Prajapati advance

Kathmandu, July 3: Mohammed Aladdin of Makwanpur, Bhishma Dhimal (Jhapa), Chitra Bahadur of Surkhet and Laxmi Prajapati of Bhaktapur made their ways into the next round of the Crown Prince Birthday Cup boxing tournament.

Aladdin in the 45 kg class had no problem forcing Sunil Lama down on the mat. Referee seeing Sunil Lama facing a tough time stopped the bout in the middle giving Aladdin a verdict on the RSC basis.

In the same fashionable manner, Bhishma Dhimal made a quick work of Raju Ranjit to march into the second round in the same category.

However, the battle between Ganga Adhikari and Chitra Bahadur witness a close fight.

Though Adhikari showing some good punches right and left was able to escape with victory on points. In the same style, Laxmi also managed to beat Bigyan Lama on the base of points.

Likewise, in the 48kg category, Sumit KC of Kamal Pokhari club showing accurate punches and better defense defeated Bal Bahadur Khatri of Surkhet in a close battle to move into the next round. Ramesh Shrestha of defence club also moved into the second round beating Bikash Kumar of Puma Club of Dharan by exhibiting good defence and by flooring flawless jabs time to time.

Though the fight between Ramesh Das Shrestha and Shiva Krishna Shrestha failed to delight the local crowd as Ramesh made short work of his rival by winning the bout on RSC basis.
