Bagmati Needs Help, Not More Pollution

There are talks that the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is going to dump the city-produced solid waste on the bank of the holy Bagmati River. What an irony! The authorities here are trying to worsen the condition of the already polluted holy river by dumping waste on its bank instead of trying to keep it clean. Imagine what would be the condition of the Bagmati river and the people residing near the river bank when the green KMC trucks start dumping waste there. Environmentally, a bleak scenario.

In fact, it is not understandable what has motivated the authorities to take such a decision, if it is true. Being a responsive citizen, I do like to make a request to all to improve the condition of the Bagmati river. The bank of the holy river must not be converted into a dumping site at any cost. Similarly, the concerned authorities should not make such a decision that annoys the local people and the devotees of Lord Pashupatinath.
