Desire For Quality Films

The Nepalese movies have come a long way since Aama was released over four decades ago. What was once a film a year type of situation, the Nepalese cine industry can boast of about 68 releases in 2056. The number of films have increased and the people can at least enjoy from the variety of home production than go for foreign films, mainly from India. But what is not palatable is that most of the Nepalese films are using the same formula that are used in the Hindi films: sex and violence. Once in a while a fresh breeze blows in the form of Bhanubhakta but that is rare. It is time the producers go more for making films that not only entertain but reflect the country’s culture as well. Healthy entertainment is what the people expect and not aping the movies made elsewhere.
