Dry Taps No Consolation Rain is common during these hot summer days, albeit Kathmandu Valley has not experienced an incessant rain this summer till date. However, there is no dearth of rain in the surrounding areas of the Valley. With the abundance of water, Nepal Electricity Authority has reportedly stopped its once-a-week load shedding schedule. But, surprisingly, the people here are still suffering from the scarcity of drinking water. The residents at Kharibot area in Min Bhawan, New Baneshwore are facing an acute shortage of water even during the current rainy summer than they faced in the dry May days. What has gone wrong with the Nepal Water Supply Corporation and its ability to supply water during the rainy season even once a day in this area? Being a permanent resident of Kharibot area, I request the concerned authorities to supply water regularly in the area as soon as possible so as to relieve the people from water water everywhere but not a single drop to drink syndrome.
