Literacy programme in Bhaktapur Bhaktapur, July 17 (RSS): A day-long legal literacy programme was organised jointly by the Nepal Bar Association Bhaktapur and the Nawachhatrodaya Library Thimi, recently. Advocates Shashichandra Mishra, Bibek Raj Dhungel, Shivaram Shrestha, Keshav Silwal, and legal practitioner Devendra Shrestha imparted training on various legal matters. The function coordinated by DDC member Dirgha Man Shrestha was presided over by library chairman Ratnakaji Shrestha. Meanwhile, the convention of the photo journalists association Bhaktapur elected a nine member working committee under the chairmanship of Kaushal Ratna Bajracharya. The vice president, secretary, joint secretary and treasurer are Birendra Suwal, Rabindra Kiju, Rupesh Prakash Kayastha and Mijaratna Shakya where as the members are Suresh Shakya, Rohit Manandhar, Ganga Prasad Khyaju and Shailendra Man Rajbhandari. Similarly, the first convention of the Malla (Pradhanang) Academy an institution of the descendants of Malla Kings of Bhaktapur, concluded here today. Senior litterateur Govind Bahadur Malla Gothale inaugurated the convention. At the function presided over by president Prof. Aishwarya Lal Pradhanang, various other speakers including vice president Devendra Kumar Malla, general secretary Amriteswor Lal Malla, treasurer Shashi Sundar Malla, president of the Newa De Dabu Laxman Rajbanshi, Chancellor of the Nepal Bhasa Academy Satyamohan Joshi, historian Hariram Joshi and Purushottam Lochan Shrestha also discussed about the contribution made by the Mallas.
