The conference aims to reduce the cases of cardiovascular diseases through exchange of experiences among cardiologists of the SAARC region and transfer of technology. Altogether 150 cardiologists from Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Srilanka have been participating in the conference. According to statistics, heart patients account for 10 per cent of the total population in the SAARC region.
