BY A STAFF REPORTER

Kathmandu, June 2: In an unusual act of Hoteliering, Raju Bikram Shah, Resident Manager of The Everest Hotel created an event to strengthen guest and staff relationship by organising football matches between 200 visiting Uruguyan students and a team comprising The Everest Hotels staff.

The first match saw a strong Everest team that included Executive Director Shariq Lari defeated 4-3 by the Uruguyan team. A specially designed shield donated by Sujit Banerjee of Yatrik. Com a leading travel agent in Delhi who brought the Uruguyans to Nepal was presented with a bottle of champagne by the hotel to the winning team.

In the second match The Everest team won and prizes includes a shield and sparkling bottle of champagne.

"In taking the business of Hoteliering outside the Hotel premises, our idea was to humanise both the staff of The Hotel Everest and its guests to reach other," said Shah.

Mr Sujit Banerjee said that the matches must surely be a highlight for the Uruguyans who were on a trip that included South East Asia and India where they saw a lot, but did not have the opportunity to meet the people of a country in so unique a fashion.
