Take Measures To Reduce Air Pollution

The removal of over 600 diesel tempos from the Kathmandu Valley was expected to make the air cleaner and healthier. But even after so many months it has been reported that the Kathmandu air is almost as polluted as it was when the diesel three-wheelers were allowed to ply. The emission tests are there and the standard too fixed but still the streets are filled with vehicles which are not up to the standard. It is therefore necessary that the vehicles that do not meet the standard are either banned from plying or they should undergo changes so that they are fit.

I do not know what plans the concerned authorities have but something must be done urgently to reduce air pollution in the valley.
