Clear Up The Confusion

Though the government has  clarified that  the academic year in the school would begin from Shrawan, the mushrooming private boarding schools in Kathmandu have already published notices concerning  new admissions. Such notices clearly indicate that for private boarding schools the new academic session begins from Baishakh, not from Shrawan. On the other hand the government schools are now taking the second term examinations following the government rules. And probably they will take the final examinations in Jestha or Ashad when the boarding schools will be taking first term examination of next academic year. Isn’t it an anarchy in the school education system? Where is uniformity in school education system?

Indeed, all the schools whether they are public (government) or private, should follow the government rule since they cannot be operated without permission from the government. But the private boarding schools operated under the permission of the government are now challenging the government decision. Cannot the concerned authorities, especially the Education Ministry, make the private boarding schools follow the new academic calendar so that the current confusion regarding the new academic calendar would be over? In fact, Education Ministry should not hesitate to take actions against those defying the government regulations.
