Bansbari beat Sankata; Boys Union, Boys Sports draw

Kathmandu, May 8: Boys Union Club and Boys Sports Club played 1-1 draw while Bansbari Club registered its first victory by beating Sankata Boys Sports Club in today's matches played under the Martyrs Memorial League being played Dashrath Stadium.

In the first match of the day, Boys Union had to be satisfied with a draw against Boys Sports despite dominating the rivals. Their domination over the rival was manifested also in their lead that materialize as early as in the 7th minute of the game through a Kumar Subba's powerful shot taken just outside the penalty area.

However their lead did not last long as the Boys sports player regrouped together to exact and equalizer in the 26th minute. Bijay Subba converted a free kick awarded to his team outside the penalty zone.

In the second match of the day, Bansbari enjoyed its first victory of the tournament beating Sankata 2-1.

After playing a horribly listless first half, Bansbari's Prajun Dahal capitalized a pass fed to him by Shant Karki in the 55th minute. However, Sankata did not allow their rival enjoy the lead any longer as Suresh Karmacharya capitalized a fault of Bansbari keeper Surendra and easily headed home to give his team the equalizer.

But the Bansbari boys who looked superior in form today ultimately pulled off a decider in the 90th minute when Bharat Lama cashed in a pass fed to him by Shyam Pun within the striking zone.
