Animal respect our tradition Biratnagar, Nov. 4 (RSS): Minister for Education and Sports Amod Prasad Upadhyaya has said that Gopastami is a good day for conveying the massage of preservation of the cow, an animal respected as Laxmi or Gaumata among all Hindus. Minister Upadhyaya was speaking at a day long Gopastami religious function held by the Shree Krishna Cow Service Committee at Biratnagar sub-metropolis Ward No 18 today. The cow, the most respected animal among all is a source of pure milk, he said adding that since this animal signifies our religion, culture and tradition, it should be preserved from all segments of society. Social worker from Siligudi, India Ratiramji Sharma noted that the cow gives immense benefit to the people of the world. During the function held under the chairmanship of committee chairman Dindayal Agrawal, intellectual Vipulendra Chakravarti spoke about the intimacy and respect subsisting between the cow and the human being.
