Chautara, Nov. 13 (RSS): Kodari border police post recently seized smuggled goods worth about Rs. 2.3 million at Bhotetsyas of Tatopani VDC and handed it over to Tatopani Customs. The goods include 274 kg Pashmina yarns and 48 pieces of VDC decks and their ownership is still not known. The porters who were carrying the goods ran away at the sight of police, leaving behind the smuggled items, according to police. In Mahottari, police have destroyed liquor of about 8,000 litres during a raid made on a number of residences and retail outlets at Banouli Danouli VDC Ward No. 2. A police team led by Deputy Police Inspector Chandra Bahadur Tamang seized liquor equivalent to Rs. 150,000 in value from the residences and retail outlets belonging to Homan Choudhari, Shital Jha, Lal Jha and Ram Ekabal Yadav. Police have also destroyed 38 drums full of liquor stored in the retail outlet of Yogendra Lal Karna at Sisawakataiya VDC-1. According to police, shop owner Karna has been handed over to concerned authority for necessary action. |
