Kathmandu, Oct. 1 (RSS): This year's Dr Balram Joshi Gyan Bigyan prize is to be awarded to founder of the "Brihat Adhyatmic Parishad" (greater spiritual council) Yogi Naraharinath. Yogi Naraharinath has been honoured with the prize in recognition of his leading role in the promotion of religion, culture, history and archaeology as well as in the founding of the World Hindu Federation. The prize carries a purse of Rs. 50,101 and a letter of commendation. Likewise, the Dr Balram Joshi best teacher award is to be presented to ex-chairman of Nepal Geographical Society Prof. Sharanhari Shrestha. Prof. Shrestha has been working as geography teacher for the past 40 years in Nepal and has also published various books and articles on geography. The prize carries a purse of Rs. 25,101 and a citation. This was decided by the meeting today of the Dr Balram Joshi Gyan-Bigyan National Prize academy held under the chairmanship of its founder Mrs Angoor Baba Joshi. |
