Stop Abrupt Power Interruption

Dashain, the greatest Hindu festival of Nepal, is at our doorstep. Everyone is busy preparing for the festive celebration. But the fluctuating power supply seems to mar the jolly and jubilant mood of all the concerned. Though the Nepal Electricity Authority has already declared to end the power cut, popularly called ‘load shedding’ it is not so in practice. The abrupt power interruption is more painful than the regular one because everyone is taken by surprise when all of a sudden they find themselves in pitch dark without pre-information. If they get a prior notice about it, they would certainly prepare themselves for the scheduled blackout. If this continues during Dashain, the great festival will turn not into a celebration. Will NEA consider the problem of 15 per cent of over 24 million Nepalese who have access to electricity?
