BY A STAFF REPORTER Kathmandu Oct.23: Samsonite, a leading multinational luggage manufacturer, set its foot in the capital, Sunday. "The company, right from the beginning has pursued only one goal- to create reliable, durable, stylish and quality oriented products," according to Paul Melkebeke, Director Operation Asia. The name is itself sufficient for quality, Melkebeke said in a press meeting. Samsonite-Nepal was launched with an objective to provide wide range of its products with sales and after sales service. Our luggage move as the tourist move, Melkebeke said Nepal, though in a small scale, has a growing market as it is one of the touristic destinations. Nepalese consumers will be benefitted from the wide range of genuine Samsonite luggage products at affordable prices, said Dr. Ramesh Tainwala, the chief operating officer of Samsonite India Limited. Dr. Tainaala also said that Samsonite-Nepal is going to open a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in the Terai belt in Nepal.
