Adulterated Petrol

There is a large number of fuel stations in the capital making fortune out of the business. But it so seems that some are authorised sellers whereas others are not. And those without registration are also openly selling the petroleum products and are doubly benefiting from both sides. Firstly, they sell the adulterated petrol by mixing it with kerosene. I am one of the victims of such a malpractice. I had to spend some eight thousand rupees on the repair of my bike because of the adulterated petrol I bought at one of such stations at Maharajgunj, which though did not look like an unregistered one.

The question is: If an authorised petrol pump does so, what would the unregistered ones do? Secondly, the second types of sellers always escape income tax since they have no official registration.

It seems there is no one to listen to the victims’ cry for remedial steps. I hope the concerned authority would consider the situation and soon take initiatives to curb such malpractices.
