For Double Remuneration ?

Being a regular reader of The Rising Nepal and the Gorkhapatra, I would like to draw your kind attention to the article on Nepal-Japan relations by S.S. Maskey published in your daily on 25 August 2000. Going through the article carried me back to a similar article by Dr. Sundarshyam Maskey published in the Gorkhapatra on 21 August 2000. What is intriguing is that the titles of both the articles are virtually the same and the contents are mere translations of each other, plus or minus some points. This confirms that the authors are one and the same person, although the by-lines were styled differently.

It does not befit a writer to contribute his/her same articles to two or more papers. It would go against the norms of the auctorial profession. If he/she does so, it would reflect his/her avarice for money. So it does not behove a writer like Dr Maskey to indulge in such a practice.

I hope such things will not repeat themselves in future.
