HM wishes Mohan Kanya School’s success

Tansen, Sept 2 (RSS): Mohan Kanya Secondary School, the leading school in women’s education in West Nepal, observed its golden jubilee by organising various programmes yesterday.

In a message, His Majesty the King has expressed happiness at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the school by organising various programmes.

Stating that the role of the school in promoting women’s education in Nepal has been remarkable, His Majesty wished for the school’s success in its future endeavours.

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, in a similar message, wished that the school would succeed in making substantial contribution to women’s education in Nepal.

Similarly, Minister for Education and Sports Amod Prasad Upadhyaya and Minister of State for Women, Children and Social Welfare Mrs Kamala Pant have wished for the prosperity of the school.

Minister of State for Education and Sports Dilendra Prasad Badu, while inaugurating the celebrations here yesterday, said His Majesty’s Government is determined to provide help for the progress and prosperity of the school which had launched women’s education even during Rana time.

Stating that the school has been chosen for operating 10+2 classes, Mr Badu noted that this will give a new dimension to women’s education.

The present government is making every effort to clear distortions and anomalies plaguing the education sector, he said adding, the government is prepared to secure the rights and interests of teachers, and teachers should become responsible for building the future of students.

MP Yadav Bahadur Rayamajhi expressed the view that the education sector is now in the doldrums due to lack of clear-cut educational policies, adding, though some efforts have been made to improve this sector, adjustment of teacher quota has given rise to various suspicious.

Palpa DDC chairman Jhapendra Bahadur G. C., Tansen mayor and many others also spoke at the function chaired by chairman of the school management committee and the Golden Jubilee celebration committee Chhatraraj Shakya.

On the occasion, letters of honour were given to Tansen Municipality, founder secretary Begmati Pradhan, Bhagawati Maya Kakshyapati snd Renuka Shrestha who donated money and various other persons who instituted 14 awards, the Dirgha Sewa Vishesh Padak to school headmaster Dev Prasad Bajracharya, Dirghasewa Padak to assistant headmaster Dwarika Prasad Sharma, and cash prizes and certificates to teachers and employees of the school.
