Maoists surrender

Dhangadhi, Sept. 24 (RSS): Janga Bahadur Rokaya, 18, a Maoist activities hailing from Bajura District Pandusain vdc ward No. 8 has surrendered to the district administration expressing his resentment over the Maoists' activities such as violation of human rights, exploitation, injustice and oppression of others and harassing the poor and committing to live life within the purview of the law, according to CDOKrishna Prasad Paudel.

Five Maoists including Rokaya have surrendered within the last two months.

Meanwhile, an all party meeting presided over by Bajura CDO Paudel has expressed commitment to organise the people against the Maoists, launch social justice and income generation programmes for the poor and conduct awareness raising programmes to eliminate all kinds of aberration and distortions.

The meeting lauded the activities of the Nepal Democracy Protection Group constituted with the objective of countering the Maoists activities and maintaining law and order in the society and expressed commitment to encourage the security of various localities.

Meanwhile, in Nepalgunj, Govinda Oli alias Gopi, a resident of Mahadevpuri vdc ward No. 2 in Banke district has surrendered to the district administration stating that he will not involve in the Maoist activities from now onwards, according to the Banke district administration office.

Mr. Oli who had been involved with the sister organisation of students of the CPN- maoist from 2053 b.s. was released today as he was detained since Asar 19 under the public security act 2046 b.s., the administrative officer of Banke Basu Koirala said.

He had filed an application at the Banke district administration office requesting for his surrender.
