Thunderstorm kills one in Sunsari BY OUR CORRESPONDENT Sunsari, March 31: The thunderstorm of Friday night has left one person dead and property worth hundreds of thousand rupees damaged in Sunsari district. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishna Bahadur Rana of the District Police Office, in the destructive rain and wind, which started at about 1:00 A.M. Friday night, Urganarayan Choudhary of Chandbela village was crushed to death by a falling pillar of his house. The storm, which lasted for about two hours damaged properties worth tens of thousand rupees in his house. Houses of several other people were also damaged and the rain and wind even damaged crops and vegetables. Farmers say the because of the rain and wind, fifty per cent of the crop waiting to be harvested may have been destroyed. Other Stories |
